How to Use the Strap Adjuster? How to Remove the Strap?

Jul 08,2022/Watch Education

We often encounter that the watch strap is too long, or when we want to replace the strap, we need to disassemble it. Many novice friends think that they can only be disassembled by going to a professional repairing place. In fact, there is no need to be so troublesome. Buying a strap adjuster can solve it yourself, but how to use this strap adjuster? Let me tell you below.

Ⅰ. How to use the strap adjuster?

1. Rotate the thimble part of the adjuster to a position parallel to the side.

2. Find the direction of the arrow of the watch shaft, and the direction of the arrow should be aligned with the thimble of the watch adjuster. If you can't find the arrow part, you can observe the size of the holes on both sides of the strap, and use the small holes to align the thimble of the strap adjuster.

3. Turn the handle to the left, so that the ejector pin is slowly inserted into the small hole, and the watch shaft is pushed out.

4. Use pliers to pull out the part of the shaft that has been pushed out. The same operation will take out the table section that is to be dismantled in advance.

5. Reinstall the watch shaft. You can use a small hammer to slowly put the watch shaft into the watch hole, and pay attention to the direction of the arrow of the watch shaft to be the same as the original.

Ⅱ. Precautions for disassembling the strap yourself

1. When disassembling the bracelet, you should first take out the clasp from the bracelet through the watch adjuster. The watch "buckle" can be pushed out by slowly rotating the watch handle. In the final installation, the "buckle nail" can be reversed and pushed back. One of the most common is that the bracelet and the case are threaded. This matching bracelet shape has six concave drawers, ten squares and fourteen squares.

When opening the strap, you can use a special watch adjuster that matches its shape. Put the watch strap into the "removing watch slot", and push it out with force according to the pin interface on the watch adjuster to complete the removal of the watch chain.

2. The chain and the back cover are tightly connected, and this structure is commonly used in old-fashioned watches and small women's watches. The repairer can use an appropriate tool to rotate the handle of the watch adjuster to the outermost side, align with the "strap connecting pin" and slowly rotate the handle to push out the "pin". In the final installation, the "buckle nail" can be reversed and pushed back. If not, you can manually pry up the back cover in the position where the gap between the clasp and the bracelet is large, preferably in a symmetrical position to avoid damage to the back cover.

3. Special reminder to remove the disassembled watch section, re-nail it with the bracelet nails, and use the side of the small hammer head to avoid accidentally hammering the watch on the watch.

We believe you already know how to use the strap adjuster. After you buy a watch, you can change the strap yourself.
